Originally, the new “Star Wars” films were always supposed to begin in the month of May. Because the filming of “Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens” was delayed at the time, the film release was thus moved to December. The surprising box office record meant that “Rogue One” and “Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi” were also in the cinemas in December. Recently, the Disney Studio announced that “Star Wars Episode 9” will be in the US cinemas on 24 May 2019. This means that the month of May is once again “Star Wars” month and probably for future “Star Wars” stories as well. Future “Star Wars” releases in May also make sense, because from December 2020 to December 2025, the four new “Avatar” movies from James Cameron will be in cinemas. In this way, the two gigantic movie series will not clash with each other.
Coming soon 01. May 2017
“Star Wars” movies make room “Avatar 2 - 5”
The “Star Wars” movies are beginning again in May 2019 with “Star Wars Episode 9”. This is not least because, as of the year 2020, the new four “Avatar” sequels will each begin in December.
