Seth Rogen: “I Loved these Movies When I Was Young”

It’s hardly conceivable that someone could be much more righteous, fair and committed to true journalism than the “Long Shot” character Fred Flarsky. And that’s exactly how the Canadian comedian Seth Rogen sees it.

“Fred is a very idealistic person who never quite managed to become the person he actually wanted to be”, says Seth Rogen. “Fred would describe himself as a very principled, but also very misunderstood journalist”. Thanks to co-star Charlize Theron, “Long Shot” is a classic love comedy: “In my youth I loved movies like ‘When Harry Met Sally’ and ‘Pretty Woman’. I liked their wit, but also their emotional satisfaction and how much space their relationships are allowed. I always wanted to make a movie that tried something like that.
