Chris Hemsworth: “Thor Hits an Absolute Low Point”

Chris Hemsworth has played the role of Thor for many years, and with the Thor and Avengers films, he was given the opportunity to expand his acting spectrum.

In ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Thor was at his craziest, in ‘Infinity War’ at his strongest and most heroic. And in ‘Endgame’, Thor has probably reached an absolute low point”, says Chris Hemsworth when describing how his character has changed. “Mentally, physically and emotionally, Thor is a completely broken figure here. He’s lost and insecure. It was a completely new development for me, it felt like I was representing a character that was totally different from the previous one. I felt freer than ever before as an actor, because at that point there were no rules anymore. It was just a real opportunity for me to go the whole way. If I’d had to play this personality at this stage two or three years ago, I probably would have failed dramatically. But with my own development as a person and actor, this new role came at a perfect time. I was able to take advantage of things I hadn’t explored before. And that was great. I loved that challenge”.
