Chris Hemsworth: “The Chaos Just Grows and Grows”

In the thriller “Bad Times at the El Royale”, seven strangers with secrets find themselves under the roof of the same dilapidated hotel one night – with fatal consequences for Mr “Thor” Chris Hemsworth.

“The script is absolutely one of the best I’ve ever read”, says “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth.

“It’s fresh, unique, and full of drama and dark humour. The chaos just grows and grows in this house of cards – totally unpredictable and intense”. In the film, Hemsworth plays the charismatic leader of a cult. The young receptionist Miles (Lewis Pullman) also welcomes a priest (Jeff Bridges), a vacuum cleaner salesman (Jon Hamm), a singer (Cynthia Erivo) and a sister duo from the south (Cailee Spaeny and Dakota Johnson) as guests.

“I never thought I'd have so much fun”, laughs Hemsworth. “I’ve usually played the hero throughout most of my career. And there are always rules that have to be strictly adhered to, but they also make the protagonist predictable. So it was a great pleasure to be unpredictable for once and let the audience puzzle things out”.
