“Avatar 2” Delayed, But There’s More “Star Wars” Coming Soon

Walt Disney Studios recently announced the launch dates for “Avatar 2-5” every two years from 2020. New “Star Wars” movies are also on the cards.

“Avatar 2” will not be released in the US until 17 December 2021. And Walt Disney Studios also recently announced that three further sequels will be released each December in two-year intervals in 2023, 2025 and 2027. In the years in between, the Hollywood studio will be relying entirely on “Star Wars”. 2022 (16 December), 2024 (20 December) and 2026 (18 December) will again be dominated by the space saga, as the industry magazine “Blickpunkt: Film” reports. Luke Skywalker will be the renewed focus of attention in 2019, when “Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker” will be showing in Swiss cinemas from 19 December.
